Sergey Novikov, 39, has directed more than 150 productions in theaters in Russia, Europe, Asia, and the United States. Among his works are Rimsky-Korsakov's opera The Golden Cockerel (directed by A. Mathison, musical director V. Gergiev), Tales of Hoffmann and The Nutcracker (Franceconcert, France), P.I. Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake (Russian Ballet Theatre, USA), Chamber History of the St. Petersburg State Academic the Yakobson Theater, the musical "Mowgli" by the St. Petersburg Music Hall, Mikhail Slonimsky's opera "The Master and Margarita" (directed by Yuri Alexandrov, Samara Opera and Ballet Theater) and many other notable productions that have become a phenomenon on the Russian stage.
