Cranes are flying

«Cranes Are Flying» is a musical drama that premiered on May 9, 2025, at the Irkutsk Musical Theatre, marking the 80th anniversary of Victory. The play is based on Viktor Rozov’s play «Forever Alive,» which was adapted into the legendary 1957 film by Mikhail Kalatozov. The original music and libretto were created by composer Arthur Baido and playwright Konstantin Rubinsky specifically for this production. The play tells the story of Veronica and Boris, whose dreams of happiness are shattered by war. The production was directed by Anastasia Grinenko and designed by Sergey Novikov. The production was nominated for 15 Musical Heart of the Theatre awards.
