Sergei Banevich’s musical extravaganza «The Steadfast Tin Soldier» was staged at the Small Stage of the St. Petersburg Musical Comedy Theatre. The premiere of the production, featuring set designer Sergei Novikov, took place on December 21, 2019. The production was directed by Anastasia Udalova. Novikov’s set design transformed the stage into a clockwork mechanism with gears and wheels, creating the illusion of a toy coming to life. The plot is based on the touching love story of a one-legged tin soldier and a beautiful paper ballerina. The play is filled with philosophical meaning, fragility, and beauty.
